All our Maternity Nannies and Night Nannies must have the following qualifications as a minimum:
Certificate level qualification in childcare
Certificate level award in maternity care, mothercraft training and/or paediatric sleep training/consulting
On top of this, our Maternity Specialists must also have a degree level qualification in either a healthcare or science field (such as nursing, midwifery, early childhood education, health or social science).
Although most members of our team have 10+ years’ experience, we’ll consider applicants with at least five years’ experience working with infants and families – ideally as one of the following:
Before the interview stage, we’ll conduct:
A background and qualification check
A police check (will be conducted annually thereafter)
Although the right qualifications and experience are a must, we also want to know how warm and personable you are. That’s why interviews are so critical to our process.
We conduct face-to-face interviews wherever possible – and via Skype if necessary.
If your interview is successful, we’ll ask for at least three referees (which must be recent and relevant).
We’ll interview your referees over the phone and email them a questionnaire to complete. This information will then be kept on file for future clients upon request.
Once you’re offcially part of the Nest Nannies team, you’ll be required to participate in regular professional development training. These might include short courses or workshops on breastfeeding, sleep training and so on.
You’ll also need to maintain the following certifications:
A valid Working with Children Check
Annual police check
